Saarela, George Grant “Shorty”

Peacefully, with his wife by his side at the North Shore Health Network, Blind River on Saturday June 23, 2018. Grant Saarela in his 75th year, beloved husband of Joy for 17 years. Loving father of Carl Saarela of Blind River and Robert Saarela of Elliot Lake. Special Grandfather to Chloe Saarela of Blind River. Step-Father to Randy Desrosiers ( Tracy ) of Bowmanville and Richard Desrosiers ( Jennifer ) of Oshawa. Step-Grandfather to Payton, Bodin and Caitlyn Desrosiers. Dear son of the late George and Dolly Saarela. Dear brother of Carol Reid of Iron Bridge, Bryan Saarela ( Nancy ) of BC and Nestor Saarela of Iron Bridge. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. At Grant’s request cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Grant’s Life will be held in the basement of the Iron Bridge United Church on Saturday July 7, 2018 at 2pm.
