Obituary for Nancy Horwath (Temple)

Horwath, Nancy (nee Temple)

Passed away peacefully in the arms of her Lord and Saviour on April 15, 2014 with her family by her side. Beloved wife of Louis Horwath with 54 years of marriage. Loving mother of Robin Horwath (Susan), Denise Phipps (Rodney) and Rick Horwath (Trena Horwath). Special Grandmother to Melissa Jensen (Fred), Matthew Horwath, Danielle Butson (Jeff), Nathan Phipps (Connie), Jonathan Phipps (fiancé Lucy), Samantha Horwath and William Horwath. Special Great Grandmother to Lucas and Avery Grace Buston. Dear sister to Kay Henry (Dave), Shirley Spear (Tom), James Temple and Sheryl Temple. Dear Sister-in Law to Ruby Reid. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Vera Temple, in-laws Louie and Ruby Horwath, her brother Thomas Temple and brother in law Donald Reid. She will be fondly missed by many nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends. Nancy was born in Flint Michigan on October 26, 1940. Her family moved to Vassar Michigan where she went to High School and met the love of her life and best friend for 54 years. Nancy was a real inspiration to her family and others that she met on her journey of life. Nancy not only raised 3 children but she worked at Super Foods and Meirs Motor Freight in Vassar MI. She also worked in Iowa for John Deere while Louie attended Bible College. In 1972, Nancy and Louie moved their family to Blind River, Ontario where they ran a tourist business together. Nancy also worked at the Royal Bank and then worked for Sault College for 22 years. Nancy was an inspiration to many people as a result of her awesome faith in God and her Love for Life. There will be a visitation held for Nancy on Friday, April 18 at the Calvary Gospel Church (55 Queen St) in Blind River from 7:00 – 9:00 pm and the funeral to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 11:00 am from the church. The interment in Riverside Cemetery, Vassar, Michigan will be on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 2:00 pm. Memorial contributions to the Gideon Bibles or the Calvary Gospel Church would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Menard Funeral Home in Blind River, ON. A special thank you to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at the Blind River District Health Centre who provided such compassionate wonderful care for Nancy in her courageous battle with cancer.
