It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, best friend and patriarch of our family at her home in Bruce Mines, Ontario, on March 24, 2017. Blanche Poirier, in her 86th year, beloved wife of the late Alcide Poirier, late Paul Doyon and late Alan Macdonald. Loving mother of Yvonne (Paul) of Lyndsay, ON., Philip (Doreen)of Cochran, ON., Paulette of Lyndsay ON., Suzanne (Tara) of Vancouver, B.C. Alan, Gisele, Norman (Patti), Alcide, Pierre (Rachel) all of Sault and Thessalon area, the late Jean Paul. Loved Grandmother of 23 grandchildren. Born in Quebec, Blanche was the daughter of the late Philippe and the late Yvonne Dumoulin. Dear caring sister of the Albert (Sharon), Marcel (Lila), Bobby (Bonnie), Claudette (Hugh), Ezelda (Alfie), predeceased by her brothers and sisters Leo (Gloria), Fern, Jean Paul (Bernice), Maurice, Alfred (Carole), Georgette (George), Philippe, Roger (Therese). Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters in law. Blanche was the driving force for her family, and honest in all her ways. She was an accomplished cook, a skill which she passed on to all 10 of her children. she owned and operated the Snow Cap Restaurant on Hwy 17 West of Sault Ste Marie in Heyden Ontario for many years and previously operated a bowling alley in Holtyre, Ontario. She held numerous cooking positions in lumber camps and for Bot Construction where she worked with her husband Alcide. We invite family and friends to join us for a celebration of Blanches life at the Beggs Funeral Home in Thessalon Ontario, on Saturday April 1st, 2017 for visitation at 11 am until the time of service at 1 pm.
