Ernie is survived by his sisters Cecile Baril (Hector), Lucille Labreche, Carol Hodkinson, brothers Raymond and Richard (Carrie), predeceased by his brothers Marcel, Fernand, Gerald and sister Jeanine. He will be missed by his son Michael Labreche and daughter Lianne Vincent (Keith) and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will also be missed by his friend Cecile, a resident at Temiskaming Lodge, who never failed to put a smile on Ernie’s face. As well, Ernie will be missed by Mary Anne's daughters Julia Anne Menard (Paul) and their daughter Michelle Menard, Pauline Lalonde (late Aurel) and their daughter Suzanne Lamour (Tim) who provided support, advocacy and management of his and Mary Anne's increasing care needs over the past 20 years. Ernie was born in Thornloe on Dec 20, 1940 where he worked for the Ontario Northland Railway and the Government Experimental Farm in New Liskeard and later retired from Algoma Mining in Elliot Lake. He was a dedicated member of the Moose Hall while living in Elliot Lake. Ernie will be buried in Blind River next to his wife Mary Anne who passed away August 4, 2019. A private graveside ceremony followed by a luncheon for family to share their memories will be arranged at a later date. Much appreciation and gratitude to the staff at Temiskaming Lodge for their unwavering professionalism, inclusion of family in ongoing decision making and provision of regular updates about his ever-changing needs and condition. Their efforts at maintaining contact with family during the constraints of the Covid19 pandemic were greatly appreciated. If desired, donations may be made to the Volunteer Association at Temiskaming Lodge who do an outstanding job at bettering the life of residents including sponsorship and organization of the generous Christmas party and multiple other special occasions.
