Rosie peacefully passed on to the spirit world on July 16, 2018 while in her 82nd year. She is survived by her 102 year old mother Rose-Ann Gionette and her 4 loving children Sharon Kelly, Terry Kelly, Shirley Kelly and Jason Kelly. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Amanda Kelly, Robert Kelly, Richard Kelly, Lauren Kelly, Meghan Kelly, Taylor Kelly, Tara Kelly, Josh Kelly and Andrew Kelly and her great grandchildren Lacey Kelly, Jasper Kelly, Jacob Kelly, Paisley Kelly, Ashleigh Kelly and Kadin Kelly.

She leaves her cherished siblings Vital Gionette (Marilyn), Joanne Lang (Charles), Jimmy Gionette (Shirley), Lillian Lockhart (Brian), Donald Gionette (Debbie), Frank Gionette, Kenny Gionette and Richard Gionette (Robin). Rosie also leaves a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.

Rosie was predeceased by her father Patrick Gionette, her brothers Johnny Gionette and Andrew Gionette and her sister Marianne MacKenzie.

She was a caring and loving grandmother to all of her grandchildren, mentoring, guiding and providing for them. She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers and won an award for having the nicest yard in the Mississauga First Nation. Rosie was a wise and respected elder who generously shared her knowledge and guidance. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family invites you to join them for a visitation at the Mississauga First Nation Band Hall starting on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 11am until time of Funeral Service and Mass on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 11am. Father Ignatius Xavier officiating. A feast at the Band Hall will follow Rosie’s funeral services.
