Obituary for Shannon Lee Johnson (Gilmore)

JOHNSON, Shannon Lee (nee Gilmore)

1959 – 2022

Shannon passed away suddenly while battling cancer in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, on the morning of November 3rd . Shannon grew up mainly in Whitby, ON and later in life moved to Uranium City, SK where she met the love of her life and husband, Glenn. Moving back to Ontario (Blind River) in 1982, Shannon worked part time with The Travel Guild in Toronto, as well as with the OPP detachment in Blind River.

She had a fondness for dogs which started at a young age – raising Afghan Hounds, and she had adopted many rescues over the last 20+ years. With family spread out across Ontario, many summers and long weekends were spent at the family cottage in Parry Sound – a place which we all hold dear in our memories and hearts.

Shannon is survived by her loving husband Glenn, her children Jacob and Amy (Mac) as well as her two grandchildren Alexis and Jack.

The family would like to thank everyone for their kind words and condolences, as well as the staff at Sault Area Hospital, Dr. Mary Shamas and Natalie.

A service will not be held at this time; however she will be laid to rest with her Mother (Danna), Father (John) and her brother (Mark) at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
