Obituary for Wayne Charles Tremblay
TREMBLAY, Wayne Charles
The family regrets to announce the sudden passing of Wayne, in his 71st year, at the Thessalon Hospital on January 29, 2020. Wayne is survived by his loving wife Marilyn and will be forever cherished by his children Wayne (Maria), Andy (Ann) and Danielle (Keith Soodeen) and his grandchildren Kristen (Ian), Nancy (Mike), Craig and Andrew as well as his great grandchild Colton. Beloved brother of John (Mariette) and brother-in-law of Ron Nicholson (Gloria), Shirley Rondeau (Larry), David Nicholson and Paul Nicholson (Lisa). Special son in law to Marion Fleron. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews and his many good and trusted friends. Wayne was predeceased by his parents Donat and Beatrice and his brothers David (Evelyn) and Neil (Doris).
Wayne was passionate about politics and his community. This led him to become a Thessalon town councillor for many years and also to be involved on various boards throughout the community such as Parks and Rec and the Library. In his spare time, he loved to travel the back roads on a quest to find a good used book and a nice baked good. When he got the chance, he enjoyed watching the great lake freighters and the trains go by.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the whole third floor staff and the Cancer Clinic at Sault Area Hospital, the staff at the Thessalon Hospital, Dr. Rassouli and Nurse Paula for their compassion and support every step of the way.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Beggs Funeral Home, 175 Main Street, Thessalon, on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 from 7pm to 9pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 286 Water Street, Thessalon, on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at 11am with Father Lourdu officiating. Luncheon to follow in the church hall. Spring interment at Pine Grove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the North Shore Health Network-Thessalon Site or the Sault Area Hospital Cancer Centre.
