It is with great sadness that we announce mom’s passing on August 10, 2017 at the North Shore Health Network, Blind River in her 95th year. We are comforted that she is now in the loving arms of our dad Harry, brother Melvin and sisters Jacqueline and Cheryl. She was raised in Nipigon, the daughter of Finnish immigrants the late Tyyne Haavio and Maurice Lofquist. Loving sister of the late Edgar ( late Karina ) Lofquist and the late Thelma ( late Frank ) Whitfield. Mother was very proud of her Scandanavian heritage. She is survived by son Harry “Buck” Jr. ( Wendy ) of Prince Geroge, B.C. and daughters Eloise “Boe” McBride-Eldner ( Late Ray and Late Fred ) of Thessalon, Mildred “Bette” Purves ( Jim ) of Huntsville and Karin Pilon ( Larry ) of Blind River and sons-in-law David Leziert and Ray Duplin. Grandchildren are Brenda Garrison (Ken), Bill Garrison (Allison) of Michigan, Mike Leziert (Pam) of Calgary, Roxanne Leziert, Melody Leziert (Keith Goodmurphy) of Sault Ste. Marie, Rachel Leziert (Pierre Poirier) of Thessalon, Chris McBride (Corey) of Toronto, Ed McBride (Tammy) of Sudbury, Scott McBride (Tammy) of North Bay, Cherie Belanger (Mike) and Heather Koskela (Henry) of the Sault, Andrea Leslie of California, Scott Purves and Jim Purves both of Huntsville, John Ulch (Rupi) of Calgary, Jennifer Ulch of Prince George, Jaci Ulch (Deric) of Calgary, Michele Schryer (Jeremy) of Hornepayne, Raymond Duplin (Shana), Giselle Duplin, and Laurent Duplin (Donna) also of the Sault. We have many many Great Grandchildren and also Great Great Grandchildren. Friends may call at the Beggs Funeral Home, Thessalon on Thursday August 17, 2017 from 11am until time of service at 1 o’clock in the funeral home chapel with The Reverend Erasmus Madimbu officiating. Interment will follow the service at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Following the burial the family invites you to attend a luncheon at the Sowerby Hall for a time of Fellowship. Donations to the Sowerby Hall Rennovations Fund c/o The Municiplaity of Huron Shores, Box 460 Iron Bridge, ON P0R 1H0 in the name of “Mildred Ulch” gratefully accepted.
