LAUSZUS, Katharina (nee Schick)
March 17, 1936 – February 6, 2020
With sadness we announce the sudden passing of our loving mother Katharina with family members by her side, at the Thessalon Hospital, in her 84th year. She joins her one and only love, Adolf Ernst Lauszus (1992). Beloved mother of Heide Lees (Don), Henry Lauszus (Diana) and Gerald Lauszus (Marla). Loving Oma of Ana, Brock, Christopher (Trisha), Vanessa, Alysia (Ryan), Wilhelm and Sarah and Great Oma to Conner, C.J., Ryder, Parker, Nickolaus, Caroline, Lily and Alexander. Fondly remembered by her sister in law Ruth Basten (nee Lauszus) as well as nieces and nephews in Germany.
Katharina loved being surrounded by nature. She enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds and tending to her home. She was well versed in current world events and looked foreword to stimulating conversations with her grandchildren, family and friends. We will forever miss Oma’s well intended advise and her yummy baking.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Haapala, Dr. Pudapakkam, Dr. Barnes and the entire emergency room staff of the North Shore Health Network-Thessalon for their professionalism, kindness and compassionate care.
The family greatly appreciates donations to the North Shore Health Network Foundation.
Family and friends are invited to St. James the Greater Parish, 44 Lakeside Avenue, Blind River on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 11am for funeral mass with Father Lourdu officiating. Luncheon in the church hall following services. Spring interment at Maple Ridge Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Beggs Funeral Home
